The Origin Story
From the ICU to the Homestead: Why Flourish Was Born.
For over 20 years, Carly Holse, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, worked on the front lines of healthcare. From the high-stakes environment of the ICU to the delicate care of Palliative and Hospice units, she saw firsthand how the modern medical system often waits until a crisis to act.
But it was Carly’s own health journey that truly changed everything.
Frustrated by the “proverbial band-aid” approach of traditional medicine, she went searching for answers that looked deeper than a lab value or a prescription pad. She discovered Functional Medicine—a way to heal the body from the root up.
Flourish was founded to bring that same life-changing care to the Deep East Texas and Northwest Louisiana communities.

Your Provider, Your Partner, Your Cheerleader. Copy: Carly graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009. With a background spanning family practice to end-of-life care, she brings a rare blend of clinical “know-how” and deep compassion to every patient she sees.
When she isn’t in the clinic, you’ll likely find Carly on her backyard homestead. She’s a lover of gardening, traveling, and spending time with her adult children and supportive husband, whom she is currently trying to convince that they definitely need more goats.
